Remember that incorrect tire inflation pressure will have a negative influence on tire degradation, temperature and grip. With regard to tires, the first obvious difference between a GT4 and a GT3 is that the latter uses tire warmers to keep the tires in temperature. As this is not allowed in the GT4, you will hit the track with a car with very cold tires that will gradually warm up after several laps, going from 20° C to about 80° C considering that pressure and temperature are directly proportional, also the pressure will increase considerably with respect to the starting values. Therefore, to achieve hot tire pressures of around 27.0 psi you will need to start with very low cold pressures of around 21.0 psi. As long as the tire pressure does not rise, you will need to stay away from the curbs to avoid damaging the tires. Now we will get to the heart of the setup changes. It is advisable to proceed with small changes especially when you are unfamiliar with the setup until you are satisfied with the progress achieved. Do not blindly make changes to a multitude of parameters hoping that the car will become faster that is not how it works and by doing so I will probably get a more unstable or undriveable car. The aggressive setup is definitely valid for most cars on any circuit. Some simracers who only use the aggressive setup without major modifications manage to make incredible qualifying times this preset is therefore extremely good.īefore changing any of ACC’s three predefined setups, think about what you are trying to achieve in fact, the modification of the car tuning is aimed at satisfying a need or solving a problem. Most of the time I can change some parameters of the aggressive configuration to make the car fit my driving style a little better. At other times the modifications may be necessary to adapt the car to the circuit or to the weather conditions (for example, if it is very cold, I may need to close the brake ducts to keep the discs warm). The wet setup is obviously designed for riding in wet conditions, when it rains heavily and you need the right level of grip for these situations. However, this preset requires a change to the tire pressure which is too low when hitting the track. The safe setup is a good starting point for beginners the car is a little tied up but can be controlled quite well. This preset is well suited to circuits such as Mount Panorama and Laguna Seca, where there are many variations in elevation and in all circumstances where the asphalt is damp or wet and/or in the presence of very light rain for which the wet tires they are not yet necessary.
